Overview

Meet at your hotel in the morning at 0800hrs and be driven to Gedi Ruins in Malindi, which was a Swahili village which was mysteriously abandoned 600 years ago. The ruins are now a national museum with heavily overgrown indigenous trees, baobab and tamarind. The

museum is also home to Sykes monkey, golden rumped elephant shrew and the owl. Afterwards, visit the Kipepeo butterfly project which is right at the entrance of Gedi Ruins. The project is aimed at giving the community an opportunity to gain income directly from the forest by breeding unique butterfly species for display and export to various parts of the world. After the tour, you are transferred back to your hotel for rest.
